Questions to ask when Hiring a Janitorial Vendor?

  1. Will there be the same cleaner every cleaning/shift?

  2. How does hiring work? Is the Janitor assigned, short or long-term? Uniformed? Experienced?

  3. Does the company have manpower to be able to cover shifts when/If needed?

  4. Does the company have proper Insurance coverages? Insurances? Coverage limits?

  5. Is the company registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, as it is required in CA?

  6. What type of cleaning materials are included? Do you offer products?

  7. What other facilities does your company service similar to this one?

  8. Does the company provide contractors or employees?

  9. How does payment and invoicing work? How often do you Bill?

  10. Am I tied to a long-term contract commitment?

  11. Will the scope of work be put on the contract?

  12. What customer service systems are in place? How quickly do I get a response? Am I able to reach a manager at anytime?

  13. Am I assigned a Manager or do I talk directly to the cleaner?

  14. What other services are offered?

  15. Are quality control protocols in place? 

  16. Is your company a franchise, union, sole-proprietor, local, small business...etc?
